trying new things...

I took into account the comments I got and made some changes. I tried to make the cars more recognizable, and I played around with the location of the type.

I'm liking the look of this... but I am worried how it might look scaled down... maybe a simpler version would be better ???

  1. The cars look a lot better! I actually thought the ones before were seats.. I also like the type in the screen like you have a on the bottom one! these are nice! I can say that I am torn between keeping the cars or letting them go.. I really like them... i dont know?!

  2. I'm really liking this, it looks like you're having a lot of fun with it. My one piece of advice would be to consider keeping it a two-color thing. Black/grey + one of the colors on the movie screen. I think that if you use the right color and possibly reverse out the type, legibility will be good even at a tiny size. Keep it up, get as many opinions as you can.

  3. Thanks John. I am going to try it a few more ways and I will take your ideas into consideration. Yes, I am having fun with it, but a little frustrated because my ideas aren't quite flowing as easily as the ones for my other client are.

Melanie, lol that you thought the cars were seats. I was in such a hurry to get the idea out that I just drew them in quickly. I'm thinking that if I didn't include them in the actual logo I could use them in some sort of ad. I am definitely gonna listen to you on the type because in all of your pieces you have shown you are a GENIUS typographically. I envy that about you!!! The type on your paperboys poster and the beer pack were really amazing.

  4. To keep the cars or not to keep th cars, that is the _________.

Erm. I don't know. No cars for main logo and cars for the front sign? I like them.

And no, he isn't taking a dump in the photo, but he probably just had finished peeing on my laundry. That's his thing.

  5. Hey you...I like this exploration of ideas. I have several that are my favorite and it might be some earlier with the film strip that you choose to use. Something about mixing that with the type is a nice novel idea. We can chat about it in class but it's really developing with a good sense of professionalism and hard work. bravo.
